March 16, Fineko/abc.az. Gasoline and diesel fuel prices have increased in China since March 10. Gasoline rose in price by 695 yuans ($100.9) per ton and diesel fuel by 670 yuans ($97.2).
ABC.AZ informs, referring to the State Committee for Development & Reforms, that the decision was made amid rising global quotations and market volatility.
The largest state-owned corporations - CNPC, Sinopec and CNOOC - are tasked with ensuring uninterrupted supplies and compliance with pricing policies.
At the same time, China is increasing oil imports. Over Jan-Feb 2026, 96.93 million tons were purchased (16% more than a year earlier).
According to Bloomberg, raw materials are sent to strategic reserves to protect against possible disruptions amid the conflict between the U.S. and Israel with Iran.
China's reserves (nearly 1.4 billion barrels) will last for about six months if supplies from the Middle East are stopped.
