Banking Supervision Strategy approved in Azerbaijan

March 11, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has approved the Banking Supervision Strategy 2026-27 as part of its risk-based control processes.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the CBA that in accordance with the goals within the Financial Sector Development Strategy 2024-26 and the Financial Sector Modernization Project implemented jointly with the World Bank, the planned initiatives on risk-based control have been successfully implemented.

Thus, over the past 2 years of the Strategy, CBA’s Risk-based Control Policy Concept has been approved (https://uploads.cbar.az/assets/7fd12f0749b180441d54cd4de.pdf ), according to which, within the Azerbaijan Risk Assessment System - ARAS (Azerbaijan Risk Assessment System), the creation and testing of risk-based control tools for pilot banks were provided.
