March 10, Fineko/abc.az. Competition between banks in terms of interest rates on loans and deposits is expected to increase in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ informs, quoting Zakir Nuriyev, the president of the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan (ABA), that one of the main expectations for the banking sector in 2026 will be further increased competition between banks.

Nuriyev noted that, in particular, competition between banks in terms of interest rates on loans and deposits is projected to increase.

According to ABA’s head, this will eventually lead to the formation of more favorable conditions for customers, the emergence of more affordable credit opportunities and the offer of more attractive deposit products.
