Outflow of cryptocurrencies from Iranian exchange Nobitex increased by 700% amid attacks by U.S. and Israel

March 3, Fineko/abc.az. Since January 2026, the outflow of funds from the largest Iranian crypto exchange Nobitex has increased by 700% and reached $3 million, ABC.AZ informs, quoting Elliptic analysts.

The main part of cryptocurrencies is sent to foreign exchanges and exchangers. Withdrawal peaks coincided with mass protests and Internet restrictions, but some users retained access to assets.

Nobitex, which trades for rials and supports non-custodial wallets, allows bypassing international banking restrictions. In 2025, $7.2 billion passed through the platform, the number of users exceeds 11 million. In terms of volume of transactions, Nobitex is ahead of all other Iranian exchanges combined. Analysts note the connection of the platform with the financial activities of the IRGC, and the Central Bank of Iran used it to support the rial exchange rate. The U.S. has imposed sanctions on British exchanges related to the withdrawal of cryptocurrencies from Iran.
