March 3, Fineko/abc.az. Operation of mobile application AniPay and web portal anipay.az will be terminated on March 4 based on the decision of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

ABC.AZ reports with reference to CBA that this step is aimed at expanding competition in the digital payments segment and stimulating further development of payment services.

It is assumed that other financial market participants will continue to render similar services, and AniPay's key functions have already been integrated into mobile banking applications.

The CBA stressed that the closure of the platform will open up additional opportunities for banks and other payment service providers, increase the level of competition and promote more intensive introduction of innovative solutions.
