February 26, Fineko/abc.az. The number of payment cards in circulation through the systems of banks and Azerpocht LLC increased by 176,000 cards at the end of January compared with the previous month and amounted to 22.156 million cards.

Compared with January 2025, this figure grew by 11%, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Central Bank.

The number of debit cards in payment cards increased by 13.3%, while the number of credit cards declined by 7.6%. Growth in the number of payment cards has had positive impact on non-cash payments.

Thus, in January, non-cash transactions within the country grew by 11.4% versus January 2025.

In January 2026, the volume of non-cash payments within the country made through bank cards reached 7.687 million manats.

E-commerce accounts for 6.6 million manats of non-cash payments. Of the remaining amount, cahless operations for 1.085 million manats were conducted through POS-terminals and for 3 million manats through self-service terminals and ATMs.
