February 26, Fineko/abc.az. This January, medical insurance premiums in Azerbaijan totaled 51.7 million manats and insurance payments - 6.9 million manats.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Central Bank, that compared with January 2025, these figures mean a reduction on premiums by around 11.4% and an increase in payments by 37.9%.

Thus, despite the reduction in premiums at the market for January 2026, and the payment burden has increased significantly.

The loss rate in January 2026 was 13.3%, while in January 2025 this figure was at the level of 12%.

For comparison, in January 2020, the loss rate was 11%, in 2021 - 15.2%, in 2022 - 5.7%, and in 2023 - 9.8%.
