February 2, Fineko/abc.az. The deposit portfolio of Azerbaijani banks has increased by 30% or 3.7 bn manats over the past 2 years up to 16.3 bn manats, ABC.AZ reports, quoting CBA director general Fuad Isayev.

Isayev noted that there is a constant increase on population’s deposits in banks: "Over the past 2 years, banks’ deposit portfolio has increased by 30% or by 3.7 bn manats up to 16.3 bn manats. As a result, in 2025, the corresponding figure increased by 29% or by 43,600 people, reaching 194,100 people. One of the important indicators of growing confidence in the banking sector is the decline in dollarization trends. By the end of 2025, dollarization of individual banks' loan and deposit portfolios made up 14.2% and 31.5%, respectively, which is historically the lowest figure."

According to Isayev, by the end of 2025, the capital adequacy ratio for the banking sector is almost 2-fold higher than the minimum regulatory standard, which means good capitalization of the sector: "Over the past 2 years (2024 and 2025) of the Financial Sector Development Strategy 2024-26, banks' assets have grown more than by 16%, exceeding 57 bn manats. The ratio of banks' assets to GDP grew more than by 4 p.p. in the current strategic period, exceeding 44%. Sector's loan portfolio has grown by 30% over the past 2 years, exceeding 30 bn manats. Total volume of business loans from banks increased by 28% in 2004-2025, exceeding 16.1 bn manats."
