February 2, Fineko/abc.az. By the end of 2025, the capital adequacy ratio in the banking sector is almost twice the minimum regulatory standard, which indicates good capitalization of the sector, ABC.AZ reports, quoting CBA general director Fuad Isayev.

He noted that over the past 2 years of strategy's realization (2024-2025), banks' assets have grown more than by 16% and exceeded 57 billion manats. The ratio of bank assets to GDP in the current strategic period grew more than by 4 percentage points and exceeded 44%.

The sector's loan portfolio has grown by 30% over the past 2 years and exceeded 30 billion manats. The total volume of business loans from banks in 2004-2025 increased by 28%, exceeding 16.1 billion manats.

There is also a steady increase on household deposits in banks. Over the past 2 years, the deposit portfolio of banks has increased by 30%, or by 3.7 billion manats, and reached 16.3 billion manats.

It is encouraging that along with the absolute growth of deposits, there has also been a positive trend in the number of new depositors. As a result, in 2025, the corresponding figure increased by 29%, or by 43,600 people, reaching 194,100 people. One of the important indicators of the growth of confidence in the banking sector is a decrease in the level of dollarization.

As of the end of 2025, the dollarization of the loan portfolio of banks and deposits of individuals made up 14.2% and 31.5%, respectively, which corresponds to a historically low level.
