January 30, Fineko/abc.az. Starting from September 1, 2026, the bachelor's and master's degree formats will be abolished in Russia. Instead, they will introduce basic higher education for a period of four to six years and specialized higher education for a period of one to three years.

ABC.AZ reports that the statement was made by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, Ksenia Goryacheva.

Students who are already studying at universities will complete their studies according to the current programs. The new system will be applied to applicants from the 2026-2027 academic year.
