November 21, Fineko/abc.az. So far, 53,000 state-owned enterprises and facilities have been privatized in Azerbaijan, the State Service for Property Issues informs.

1,565 of the privatized enterprises belong to the category of medium and large enterprises. Joint-stock companies have been established on the basis of these enterprises.

The privatization process serves the purpose of structuring the public sector and shifting economic activity to more efficient models.
