October 2, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstan is working to increase oil exports through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.

ABC.AZ informs that Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov told journalists about this on the sidelines of the XVI Eurasian KazEnergy Forum.

He said that in 8 months of 2025, Kazakhstan transported 923,000 tons of oil via BTC, recalling that the agreement with Azerbaijan provides for an increase in transit through this pipeline up to 2.2 million tons a year.

"Therefore, we are constantly working with colleagues to increase these volumes. In general, the route is of great interest to both Kazakhstani shippers and international oil companies," he said.

Akkenzhenov added that in 2025, Kazakhstan's BTC oil exports could reach 1.2 million tons.
