September 29, Fineko/abc.az. China's imports of liquefied natural gas in September are projected to decrease more than by a fifth compared to last year.
ABC.AZ reports, referring to Bloomberg, that decline in purchases continues against the background of steady domestic supplies and pipeline flows.
According to Kpler, an analytical firm that tracks ship data, the country will import 5.4 million tons of LNG in September. The figure is 22% less than the Chinese customs statistics a year ago and the 11th consecutive month of decline.
China is experiencing a year of weak demand as country's own gas production increases and pipelines from Central Asia and Russia remain active.
Domestic gas production grew by about 6.1% year-on-year for Jan-Aug , according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
