September 18, Fineko/abc.az. Certification of energy efficiency of new, reconstructed, and overhauled residential and non-residential buildings in Azerbaijan will be mandatory.
ABC.AZ reports that this is reflected in the draft amendments to the Law on the Rational Use of Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency.
The document was submitted for discussion at today's meeting of the Parliament's Committee on Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology.
According to the draft, in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments, buildings (structures), auxiliary and temporary structures, greenhouses and warehouses, industrial buildings, individual residential buildings should be included in the list of immovable historical and cultural monuments of world, national and local importance, with the exception of construction sites defined by articles 81.1 and 89.1 of the Urban Planning and Building Codes (with the exception of Article 89.1.4).
Certification will become mandatory for buildings after the entry into force of this Law, it will not apply to buildings in operation.
Article 17.1.2 of the current law contains rules for certification of buildings for energy efficiency, which will be approved by the Cabinet Ministers.
