September 15, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Jul 2025, Azerbaijan imported 646,336 tons of wheat for $140.1 million, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the State Statistics Committee.

The indicator means a 37% increase in value against Jan-Jul 2024, and a 40% rise in quantity.

Azerbaijan bought 558,669 tons of wheat from Kazakhstan for $119.6 million (there were no supplies 1 year ago), 87,657 tons (-5-fold) from Russia for $20.6 million (5-fold less than a year earlier) and 8.55 tons from Turkey (-89 %) for $6,200 (-74%).

Russia accounted for 90.2% of the 1.292 million tons of wheat imported in Azerbaijan in 2024.
