August 28, Fineko/abc.az. Homeowners in Germany with gas heating systems can meet energy-saving law requirements by using biomethane, but its use is significantly more expensive.

According to ABC.AZ, citing Verivox data, gas tariffs with 65% biomethane content are on average 15 euro cents per kWh higher than for regular natural gas, which in August 2025 cost about 11 euro cents per kWh. High prices are linked to the costly production of biomethane.
