August 25, Fineko/abc.az. The price of Ethereum, the second most popular cryptocurrency, has reached a new all-time high, surpassing $4,950. This happened on Sunday, August 24, according to trading data. According to ABC.AZ, at its peak Ethereum rose to $4,956.78.
As Bloomberg reports, the rise in Ethereum’s price followed a speech by U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell at Jackson Hole, where he hinted at a possible interest rate cut. “The reaction of cryptocurrency markets was swift and positive. In this liquidity-driven growth cycle, investors are quick to respond to dovish signals, and Powell’s comments clearly demonstrated this,” said Sygnum Bank’s head of research, Catalin Tschhauser.
The previous Ethereum record was set on November 10, 2021, at $4,868 per token. On Monday, August 25, the price of Ethereum began to decline. As of 10:08 Baku time, the cryptocurrency was down 1.97%, to $4,686.8.
