July 14, Fineko/abc.az. A project to export Azerbaijani gas through Turkey to Syria will be implemented in the near future.

ABC.AZ informs that this was announced on July 12 at a meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of the transitional period of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmed al-Sharaa in expanded format.

At the meeting, importance of cooperation between our countries, in particular in the energy sector, was noted. The parties emphasized that Syria is currently facing a serious energy problem. In particular, it was stressed that a project to export Azerbaijani gas through Turkey to Syria will be implemented in the near future, and this will contribute to Syria's energy security. It was noted that Azerbaijan is able to contribute to the restoration of the Syrian energy sector.
