July 11, Fineko/abc.az. UK’s Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves will announce on July 15 the abandonment of paper stock certificates.

ABC.AZ reports that this solution is designed to reduce the costs of companies and increase the competitiveness of the financial sector.

Britain remains one of the few countries where physical certificates are still used. It is planned to switch to digital registries and create a unified stock accounting system. The abandonment of paper stocks was one of the key recommendations of the report on the digitalization of capital markets prepared in 2023.
