ABC.AZ reports that Central Bank’s board member Vusal Khalilov made this statement, when speaking at FINTEX SUMMIT 2025, an exhibition of finance & technology in Baku.

Khalilov noted that the analysis of country's successful experience in this area revealed two points - human potential and the application of standards.

"Engineering, product ownership, design, and other areas of expertise needed in a digital environment are among the key success factors. Everyone knows that the skills I have listed are not easy to master in a short time. This is why proper guidance and practice are so important in every field of knowledge. That is why, with the support of the Central Bank, the ICPC finals, the world's most prestigious programming championship, will be held in Azerbaijan this year. This means that the strongest programmers from all universities of the world will come to Azerbaijan. During this competition, the attention of the world's top organizations will be focused on Azerbaijan, because, as I’ve already noted, the reason for the success of these organizations is precisely the human potential with deep knowledge and skills. The arrival in Azerbaijan of teams consisting of leading executives and engineers from organizations such as OpenAI, Meta, and Google as ICPC graduates can also be regarded as an indicator of our country's growing authority in this field. I believe that holding the finals in Azerbaijan will contribute to the popularization of this field," he added.
