May 22, Fineko/abc.az. Anglo Asian Mining Plc. (AAM), a British company engaged in gold, silver and copper mining in Azerbaijan, plans to start production at Demirli copper & molybdenum deposit located in the Karabakh Economic Region in the 2nd half of this year, ABC.AZ reports, referring to company's statement.

"In 2024, AAM gained access to Demirli field, which has significant potential, and is currently working to restore production. The field is to be commissioned in the 2nd half of 2025, and it has already been included in the AAM strategic development plan," the report says.

According to the company, Demirli has confirmed copper reserves sufficient to justify the resumption of production.
"To restore work, it is necessary to bring the mine and the plant to full working capacity, solve various technical and logistical problems. Demirli is a deliberately damaged, abandoned site, and, as expected, certain difficulties arise. However, AAM is confident that production can resume in the 2nd half of next year," the company notes.
