Saudi Arabia intends to repay Syria's debts to WB

April 15, Fineko/abc.az. Saudi Arabia plans to repay Syria's debt to the World Bank so that Syria can once again receive international financial assistance, including significant grants to rebuild damaged infrastructure and support the struggling public sector, ABC.AZ reports, referring to Reuters.

Speech is about an amount of approx. $15 million, which is necessary to restore cooperation with the WB within the assistance programs.

If these plans are implemented, this will be the first precedent for providing financial support to Syria from Saudi Arabia after the removal of Bashar al-Assad from power in 2024.
