April 10, Fineko/abc.az. U.S. President Donald Trump has decided to increase duties on Chinese goods up to 125%.

"Due to China's disrespect for global markets, I am increasing the duties levied by the U.S. on China up to 125%, they will take effect immediately," Trump wrote on Truth Social network yesterday.

He expressed a hope that "in the near future, China will realize that the realities when it robbed the U.S. and other countries are no longer acceptable".

On April 2, Trump announced the introduction of mirror duties on goods from foreign trading partners of the U.S. (185 countries were included in the list). The minimum base rate of duties will be 10%, but for a number of countries, duties have been calculated individually depending on the trade deficit of the U.S. with these countries. For example, for China, the duties were originally supposed to be 34%.
