April 4, Fineko/abc.az.The volume of gas exported from Azerbaijan to Europe has doubled and reached 14 bcm.

ABC.AZ reports that Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov made this statement during his speech at the 11th Ministerial Meeting within the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 3rd Ministerial Meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council.

The minister added that Azerbaijan's extractive projects should develop rapidly, it is necessary to expand pipeline's capacity and build a centralized compressor station.

"Long-term gas contracts can be signed between Azerbaijan and European consumers. This will be the most important guarantee for the European Union. Expansion of the corridor will definitely increase Europe's energy power, and through such coordinated and lasting cooperation, we – Azerbaijan, the EU, energy companies, regional participants and financial resource providers – will bring the Southern Gas Corridor to a new level. We have to work on this," the minister emphasized.
