March 10, Fineko/abc.az. E-money transactions for 25.8 billion manats were carried out in Azerbaijan in 2024.

ABC.AZ informs that this is stated in the annual Digital Payments Review of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

Last year, the total amount of e-money transactions and payment organizations amounted to 60.5 billion manats.

The reported year was marked by country's first licensing of electronic money, payment organizations, as well as operator activities and the inclusion of relevant organizations among the players in the payment market. Within the licensing of activities of payment service providers, 14 e-money organizations, 8 payment organizations and 1 operator were granted appropriate licenses during the year.

During the reported period, as part of monitoring the activities of electronic money and payment organizations, 1 electronic money organization was brought to administrative responsibility, and a total of 8 mandatory orders were given to seven organizations (3 of them payment organizations and 4 electronic money organizations).
