March 3, Fineko/abc.az. Italian fashion house Prada may buy Versace from Capri Holdings in the near future.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to Bloomberg that the value of the deal will be $1.5 bn.
Since mid-December 2024, there have been rumors that Capri is ready to sell Versace and its other brand, Jimmy Choo. Capri Holdings has tasked investment banking agency Barclays to send out an offer to potential interested parties.
At the beginning of the year, it became known that the deal was being discussed with Prada. Companies can conclude it already "within a few weeks".
Initially, Capri wanted to get €3 bn for Versace. However, according to the sources of the publication, it was possible to agree only on €1.5 bn ($1.6 bn).
Capri Holdings, which also owns Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo, bought Versace in 2018 from the Versace family and American investment fund Blackstone, paying about €1.83 bn for it.
