February 28, Fineko/abc.az. Interest rates on the interbank money market in Azerbaijan continue to change in accordance with the decisions of the Central Bank.
ABC.AZ informs that this is stated in the monetary policy review for 2024, published by the Central Bank.
In December 2024, the average interest rate on interbank short-term (for 1-3 days) transactions was 7.68%. This is within the interest rate set by the Central Bank. The CBA says that interest rates are approaching its main decisions, and the influence of monetary policy is increasing, which affects interest rates on deposits and loans.
Since April 1, 2024, the Central Bank has started sharing information about the 1-day interest rate (1D AZIR) on its official website on a daily basis. At that, interest is also generated in the REPO market, where banks borrow against collateral. In December, the average interest rate on 1-3-day transactions here was 7.7%, and the average interest rate on 6-8-day transactions was 7.8%.
