February 26, Fineko/abc.az. American software manufacturer Strategy Inc. (formerly MicroStrategy Inc.) bought 20,356 bitcoins for nearly $1.99 bn between February 18 and 23.

ABC.AZ. reports that according to documents filed by the company with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), the average purchase price of cryptocurrencies was $97,514.

The bitcoins were purchased by Strategy using finances raised as part of the offer of convertible bonds to institutional investors. Last week, the company sold these securities for $1.99 bn.

As of February 23, Strategy owns a total of 499,096 bitcoins and has paid $33.1 bn for them (an average of $66,357 per bitcoin). Considering the current price of bitcoin, this portfolio is worth about $45 bn.
