February 25, Fineko/abc.az. The number of payment cards in circulation through the systems of banks and Azerpocht LLC increased by 67,000 cards at the end of January compared with the previous month and reached 19,965,000 cards.

ABC.AZ informs that compared with January 2024, this figure grew by 15.8%.

The growth of payment cards was 18.1% on debit cards and 0.3% on credit cards. This growth had positive impact on non-cash payments.

Thus, during the month, the volume of non-cash transactions within the country grew 1.4-fold against  January 2024.

In January 2025, the volume of non-cash payments within the country made with use of cards reached 6.902 million manats.

5.845 million manats from non-cash payments accounted for e-commerce.

Of the remaining amount, non-cash payments for 1.052 million manats were conducted through POS-terminals, and 3.1 million manats through self-service terminals.

In January, the volume of non-cash domestic transactions with payment cards made up 68.5% of all domestic card transactions.
