February 7, Fineko/abc.az. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has announced plans to launch the Chandrayaan-4 mission in 2027, which will be a significant step in the country's space program.
ABC.AZ informs that the main purpose of the mission is to collect samples of lunar soil and deliver them to Earth, as confirmed by Indian Minister of Science & Technology Jitendra Singh.
This ambitious project will require at least two launches of heavy launch vehicle LVM-3 to deliver five separate mission components into orbit. These elements will be collected in orbit before being sent to the moon, which will be India's first attempt at a sample return mission, significantly advancing the country's scientific and technological capabilities in space research.
India's space economy is currently estimated at $8 billion, and it is expected to grow to $44 billion over the next decade.
