January 28, Fineko/abc.az. As of January 1, 2025, Azerbaijan's external public debt amounted to $5.16 bn (8.77 bn manats) or 6.9% of GDP.

ABC.AZ reports, with reference to the Ministry of Finance, that the domestic public debt reached 18.659 bn manats, making up 14.8% of GDP.

Budget expenditures on servicing public debt and obligations last year amounted to 1.295 bn manats.

Of this amount, 170.3 million manats were allocated to repay the domestic public debt (interest payments), and 1.125 bn manats were allocated to external debt (850 million manats on the principal debt and 275.2 million manats on interests).
