 January 27, Fineko/abc.az. In November 2024, Azerbaijan increased much its purchases of gold from abroad.

The country bought 6.9 tons of gold in just one month, which is significantly higher than in previous months.

This is not about government purchases, but about the volume of imports in general.

ABC.AZ reports that 1 kg of gold cost $85,690 or $2,429 per ounce for the country.

Azerbaijan started buying gold in April 2024, and the volume of gold purchases grew month after month. From that date to November, a total of 34,083 kg of gold was purchased, and as a result the country earned $2.714 billion.

According to data from April to November 2024, our country bought most of the gold from Australia - $1.199 billion for 15,183 kg. The U.S. occupies the 2nd place with 10,924 kg ($883.56 million), Canada — 3rd with 2,023 kg ($150.57 million), Russia - 4th with 1,985 kg ($160.6 million), and Kazakhstan - 5th with 1,919 kg ($169.1 million).
