January 17, Fineko/abc.az. Bank VTB expects to open a bank in Iran by the end of 2025 and is awaiting permission from the leadership of that country, ABC.AZ reports, quoting head of VTB Andrey Kostin.

"I’d like to say that we are announcing today that we plan to open a bank in Iran by the end of this year. <...> The coming of the first Russian bank on the Iranian market, it will be announced today. <...> We are appealing to the Iranian leadership and expect that it will give permission by the end of this year," Kostin said.
