Banks reduced demand at currency auction by 5.9%

January 14, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), with the participation of the State Oil Fund, held a currency auction.

ABC.AZ reports, citing data from the Central Bank, that at the January 14 currency auction, banks' demand amounted to $68.3 million and was fully secured.

According to the CBA, this is $4.3 million (5.9%) less than at the last auction. On January 9, the Central Bank sold $72.6 million to banks at a currency auction.

According to the results of the currency auction, the weighted average exchange rate was 1.7000 AZN/USD.
