November 28, Fineko/abc.az. The price of coffee beans at the world market continues to rise, the price of futures in January for Robusta coffee is already projected above $5,500 per ton, on November 28, ABC.AZ reports, referring to ICE Futures.
Thus, by the end of November 27, the price of the January robusta coffee futures was $5,545 per ton, an increase of 7.15%. This level was last recorded in 2008.
In addition, the price of Arabica coffee had previously risen above the $7,000 mark per ton, which is a record since 1977.
In April 2024, the cost of robusta coffee was more than $4,000 per ton, and in August it was already $5,000.
Experts attribute such an increase in coffee prices to a possible decrease in the current year's harvest in Brazil due to the heat and uneven precipitation.
