November 25, Fineko/abc.az. Changes in the structure of expenditures of the State Budget of Azerbaijan are expected in 2025.

ABC.AZ reports that Accounts Chamber’s chairman Vugar Gulmamedov said about this at the plenary session of the Milli Majlis, when discussing the Draft State Budget for 2025.

He added that in 2025, a decrease in capital expenditures of the budget is projected by 8.1%, while an increase in current expenditures will make up 7.7%, and expenses for servicing public debt and obligations - by 85.2%:

"As a result, the share of current expenditures in budget expenditures will increase to 60% next year. The growth rate is expected to continue in the medium term. We believe that in this situation it is necessary to consider changes in fiscal policy to optimize current expenditures."

ACA chairman also noted that there is a tendency for non-resource revenues to decrease in relation to current State Budget expenditures:

"The analysis shows that the ratio of non-resource revenues to current expenditures will be 78.7%, and defense expenditures to non-oil/gas revenues - 126.3%."
