November 22, Fineko/abc.az. The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) will commission a significant number of new centrifuges for uranium enrichment in response to the anti-Iranian resolution adopted on November 21 by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

ABC.AZ informs that this is stated in a joint statement by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the AEOI.

"Iran's relevant organizations at various levels had previously warned that taking any measures aimed at confrontation and using the [IAEA] Board of Governors to promote illegal, politically motivated statements would face retaliatory measures. <...> In this regard, the head of the AEOI ordered to take appropriate measures, including launching a significant number of new advanced centrifuges of various types," Ministry’s post on Telegram channel says.

All subsequent retaliatory actions will be taken solely "to protect national interests and further develop the peaceful nuclear industry" in accordance with the growing needs of the country "within the rights and obligations provided for by the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons".
