November 14, Fineko/abc.az. This year, cotton was sown on an area of about 100,000 hectares in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that the statement was made by Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov.

He said that cotton harvesting continues at the moment: "Precipitation is good for grain, but harmful for cotton, so it is difficult to say anything about production volumes."

In 2023, 276,100 tons of cotton were harvested in Azerbaijan (14% less than in the previous year).
