November 14, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is committed to accelerating the "green transition".

ABC.AZ informs, citing CBA chairman Taleh Kazimov as saying this at an event on the theme "Global financial system: expanding financing to combat climate change" within COP29.

"Therefore, Azerbaijan has included climate issues in its national development strategy," he added.

In addition, he noted that one of the five pillars of the document "Azerbaijan 2030: national priorities of socio-economic development" is the achievement of "green development" in the country.

"This year, President Ilham Aliyev declared Azerbaijan the Year of Solidarity in the Name of a Green World. This discussion highlights international solidarity, the fight against climate change and risks. In accordance with Socio-Economic Growth Strategy 2022-26, the share of renewable energy sources in the total energy complex should be increased to 24% by 2026," Kazimov added.
