October 11, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has approved a national strategy for the efficient use of water resources.

ABC.AZ reports that the President of Azerbaijan signed a relevant decree.

The strategy covering 2024-2040 includes measures for the effective use and management of water resources, prevention of pollution, desalination of seawater, modernization of irrigation systems, as well as the use of water resources in the Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic regions.

The Cabinet Ministers has been instructed to inform the country’s president once a year about the work done on the National Strategy, including on the status of measures envisaged in the National Strategy, and to resolve other issues arising from this order.

The monitoring and evaluation of the measures stipulated by the National Strategy will be carried out by the Center for Analysis & Communication of Economic Reforms on the basis of Cabinet’s order.
