September 26, Fineko/abc.az. A meeting on economic issues has been held under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

ABC.AZ reports that in his speech, the head of state touched upon a number of important points.

Noting that next year's budget is currently being discussed, and it will be presented to him in the near future, the President of Azerbaijan said:

"Naturally, the budget reflects our capabilities. As they say, we have to stretch out our legs according to our clothes. We are not getting any help from anywhere, on the contrary, we are reducing the external debt, and the task that I set a few years ago is already being successfully completed. In terms of the ratio of external debt to gross domestic product, Azerbaijan is among the leading countries in the world. This (ratio) is only 7.5%, which allows us to spend less money on repayment of external debt in the future. Today we will discuss this, too, and see if early repayment of some debts will be useful. Although I have already said several times that if we want to, we will reduce the entire debt to zero in one day. In any case, today, of course, there will be an exchange of views on the discussion of this issue."
