September 24, Fineko/abc.az. Since Azerbaijan joined the World Bank in 1992, we have been reliable partners. We are glad that during this time we have been able to contribute to the bright economic growth of Azerbaijan and its achievements in the field of poverty reduction, ABC.AZ reports, quoting WB country manager for Azerbaijan, Stephanie Stalmeister.

He noted that Azerbaijan is now facing new challenges, and these new challenges require new approaches.

"The dynamic non-energy private sector should play a leading role in the new development model of Azerbaijan. The private sector's need for skilled labor can be met through investments in human capital. The role of the state should change from an active investor, a participant in the economy, to ensuring macroeconomic and financial stability, investing in human capital, and removing restrictions for the private sector. As a long-term partner of Azerbaijan, the World Bank Group is committed to helping Azerbaijan successfully implement this important transition," Stalmeister said.
