August 6, Fineko/abc.az.  The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has joined program Partnership for Oil & Gas Methane (OGMP 2.0).

ABC.AZ was informed at SOCAR that by joining this partnership, SOCAR has gained the opportunity to acquire, apply best practices in the field of environmental protection in the global energy sector, as well as provide more detailed reporting on methane emissions in accordance with the requirements of international standards.

GIMP 2.0 aims to reduce negative impact of methane in the oil & gas sector, promote emission reduction activities and ensure transparent reporting using best practices.
