July 18, Fineko/abc.az. The plans for the future include the production of siderates for export, SOCAR department head Mustafa Gurbanli said.
ABC.AZ reports that according to Gurbanli, by 2030 SOCAR will try to reduce fuel consumption at home to zero:
"In this regard, SOCAR is measuring its own emissions. We strive to ensure a reduction in the decarbonization phase. New segments have been created in SOCAR, and work is underway to create new enterprises. The issues of wind, sun, and green hydrogen are being investigated."
SOCAR, Azerbaijan Investment Company and BP plan to implement the Shafak solar power plant project with capacity of 240 MW by the end of 2025:
"At that, SOCAR participates in large-scale renewable energy and green hydrogen projects implemented in Azerbaijan jointly with leading global companies," he added.
In addition, Gurbanli noted that SOCAR, together with Swiss companies EW Höfe and Alpiq, is planning to implement a pilot project for construction of an electrolysis plant with capacity of 10 MW in Switzerland.
