June 10, Fineko/abc.az. After the record price of the Binance exchange token (BNB), its founder Changpeng Zhao became the richest man serving a sentence in a U.S. federal prison.

The cryptocurrency reached an all-time high in the first week of his four-month prison sentence, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the foreign press.

So, on June 4, Zhao arrived at a prison in California. And on June 5, the price of BNB, according to CoinGecko, reached a market capitalization of $717. Since the beginning of the year, the token has more than doubled in price.

Bloomberg estimates Zhao's fortune at $38.5 billion, while Forbes estimates it at $33 billion. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, he is the 40th richest man in the world, and in 2024 his fortune increased by $4.1 billion.
