May 6, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has applied for membership in the Central Banks & Supervisors Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS).

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the CBA that the main purpose of the application is the opportunity to study international experience. The accession process is currently under discussion.

In addition, last year the CBA exchanged experience with the Central Bank of Georgia on participation in international initiatives and expansion of cooperation in the field of sustainable financing. Within the experience exchange program, the experience of the Central Bank of Georgia on the national coordination platform for the application of sustainable financing, the preparation of a taxonomy, the use of sustainable financing tools, as well as the assessment of climate change risks and ESG was studied.
