April 23, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st quarter of 2024, expenses relating to servicing the state debt and obligations of Azerbaijan were 5.5-fold more against Q1 of 2023 – 1.88 bn manats (55.15% of finances envisaged in the State Budget.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Ministry of Finance that for Jan-Mar 2024, 66.6 million manats (interest-bearing debt) were repaid on domestic public debt, 1.021 bn manats on external public debt (850 million manats on principal debt, 171.4 million manats on interest-bearing debt).

Taking into account the presented operational data on the use of finances within the projects implemented through external borrowing and payments of the principal debt on the external public debt, the external public debt as of April 1, 2024 amounted to $5.507 bn.

As of April 1, 2024, the domestic public debt amounted to 16.415 bn manats.
