March 12, Fineko/abc.az. This January, Azerbaijan imported 2,177 tons of corn for $682,000.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Customs Committee that country’s imports of products declined by $2.55 million in value terms and by about 8,213 tons (4.8 times) in quantitative terms.
Over January 2023, Azerbaijan imported 10,390 tons of corn for $2.737 million.
The import price for 1 ton of corn this year was $313, and for the same period of last year — $263. Prices grew by $50, or 18.9%.
This means that the import of 1 kg of corn in January 2024 reached 0.53 manats, and for January 2023 - 0.45 manats.
The cost of imported corn for January 2024 made up 0.06% of country’s total imports. Corn accounted for 0.19% of Azerbaijan's total imports for January 2023.
