ABC.AZ reports that CBA first deputy chairman Rashad Orujov said about this during a conference in Baku "Economic reforms & modern challenges of improving the business environment".
"The trend of serious de-dollarization process continues in the financial sector and the economy of Azerbaijan. In 2023, it continued at a rapid pace. This was also observed for the obligations of the banking sector, that is, the loan portfolio. In addition, as a result of the work done, financial accessibility in the business environment has increased and the digitalization of financial services has expanded. The main goal of the initiatives implemented last year was to increase the sustainability of financial institutions, expand electronic payments, improve credit information infrastructure, expand capital markets, and create an ecosystem for green finance," he stressed.
