January 31, Fineko/abc.az. Central Bank’s chairman Taleh Kazimov has clarified the matter relating to the fact that some banks in Azerbaijan do not accept old dollars.

ABC.AZ reports that in his statement to journalists, Kazimov said that there is no special approach in this regard from either the Central Bank or the banks.

"Old and new dollar bills are classified by year of production. All dollars produced before and after 2006 are in circulation and there are no problems with their receipt. Someone raised this issue, and the population began to abandon old dollars. As a result, old dollars accumulate in banks, and the bank sends them abroad and brings new dollars with the payment of a commission. There are no serious problems in this regard," the chief banker stressed.
